Wajer Yachts is a Dutch family-owned business with an international field of activity. Although we are located in different places in the world, our yards in the Netherlands are the beating heart of our company. Here, a team of approximately 300 colleagues works on the development, design, construction and testing of around 60-70 yachts per year. About 80-100 service and refit projects are also being realized here.
From our service hubs (South of France, Ibiza, Mallorca, Miami & The Hamptons) we offer our customers an unparalleled service with our Care program. Being the owner of a Wajer means maximum sailing pleasure, "without a worry". Three simple words that form the foundation of our business. Our technical team ensures that the Wajers are always in good technical condition during the busy sailing season. In addition, our captains & deckhands are responsible for sailing, cleaning, refueling up to the planning of sailing trips.
What are you going to do?
In your role as Charter Captain, you will be responsible for all sailing trips with our charter customers. In most cases, these are private customers who rent a Wajer (38 or 55ft) for a day. Your goal is to completely unburden these customers and let them enjoy the ultimate sailing experience at Wajer.
This considers the following tasks:
- Making and preparing sailing plans and trips. This is always done in consultation with the customer and based on the weather forecast.
- Accompany owners, guests and passengers on board and make sure they lack nothing. For example, you provide them with snacks and drinks and put the toys (seabobs for instance) in the water.
- Cleaning and maintaining the yacht, toys and parts on board
- Registration of trips, fuel, technical malfunctions and other data via the Wajer App
- Performing (optical) technical checks
- Responsible for being and keeping the minimum inventory in order

What are your assets?
We are looking for a total of four Charter Captains for the following locations and periods:
- Cannes/Monaco area for the period May 1st to October 1st.
- Cannes/Monaco area for the period June 1st to September 1st.
- Port Grimaud area for the period from May 1st to October 1st.
- Port Grimaud area for the period June 1st to September 1st.
As a Charter Captain, you will work from one of the above service hubs in France. You will have a number of yachts under your care that are only rented out for charters. As Charter Captain you have a diverse and international clientele. It is therefore very important that you have excellent communication skills.
In addition to that:
- You are in possession of a Yachtmaster/Capitaine 200 (GT) that allows you to sail commercially on our yachts
- At least 2 years of sailing experience on sea and large waters, preferably around southern France
- Excellent command of the English languages. French or other languages are a big plus.
- Available for the periods mentioned above.
