Job description
About Wajer
Wajer Yachts is a Dutch family-owned business with an international scope. Although we have locations around the world, our core operations are based in Heeg and Lemmer (Friesland). Here, a team of approximately 300 employees works on the development, design, construction, and testing of about 60-70 yachts annually. Our sales and marketing team operates from a beautiful office in Amsterdam. During the summer, our team is augmented with around 80 additional staff in our international service hubs.
From these international service hubs (including South France, Ibiza, Mallorca, and Miami), we offer unparalleled service through our Care program. Owning a Wajer means maximum boating pleasure, “without a worry.” These three simple words form the foundation of our operations. We handle everything from cleaning, refueling, stocking refrigerators, and covering the boats to planning sailing trips.
What will you be doing?
At Wajer Heerenveen (formerly Zaadnoordijk Yachtbuilders), polyester hulls for various Wajer models are built. The further assembly takes place at our Heeg location.
As a Polyester Technician, you and your colleagues are responsible for creating a hull from a mold every four weeks. This hull serves as the foundation for our luxury yachts. We use three different techniques: spraying, hand laminating, and vacuum infusion. In this role, the emphasis is on spraying, but you will also engage in the other techniques.
A selection of your tasks:
- Pre-treatment of hulls, components, and materials
- Applying and finishing polyester layers
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
