Job description

Who are we?

Wajer Yachts is a proud Dutch family business specializing in luxury yacht building. Our yachts, ranging from 38 to 77 feet, are among the best in the industry. Although we are located in various parts of the world, our locations in Heeg, Heerenveen, and Lemmer (Friesland) are the heart of our organization. Here, a team of about 300 colleagues works on the development, design, construction, and testing of around 60-70 yachts per year. The sales and marketing team operates from a beautiful office in Amsterdam. From our international service hubs (including South France, Ibiza, Mallorca, and Miami), we offer our clients unparalleled service with our unique Care program. Owning a Wajer means maximum enjoyment on the water, “Without a worry.” These three simple words form the foundation of our business operations.

Our no-nonsense company culture promotes taking personal responsibility and encourages entrepreneurship. We expect everyone to contribute and to take the lead when needed. Are you a captain on the ship? Do you resonate with our way of working? We are looking for colleagues who want to join us in our ambitions and contribute to our success.

What will you do?

As an HR Business Partner, you will be part of the HR team, which currently consists of 10 colleagues, and report to our HR Manager. In this challenging HR professional role, you will easily switch between HR policy development and operational execution. You will play a crucial role in further developing HR policies and ensuring their implementation in practice, all in support of Wajer's rapid growth and further professionalization.

As an HR Business Partner, you will provide daily support to our Wajer Operations Team colleagues, including the New Build team, Service & Refits, the Purchasing team in Heeg, the Production team in Heerenveen, and the team at Wajer Super Yachts in Lemmer. You will contribute to organizational development and personnel planning for the aforementioned teams and be the daily point of contact, sounding board, and expert advisor for managers and employees. You have an intuitive understanding of what is happening within the changing organization, the desires and needs of the people, and what is required to facilitate the organization’s rapid growth from an HR perspective. Additionally, you will manage several policy topics, such as sustainable employability, leadership development for supervisors in the production process, or overseeing AFAS optimizations and configurations. Depending on your expertise, we will distribute policy topics within the team.

The HR department is firmly embedded within Wajer, and various current HR themes are prominently on the agenda. Wajer is characterized by rapid growth, international expansion, and a commitment to teamwork. It is a learning organization that continuously seeks improvement, personal development, and learning from mistakes. The HR policy continuously adapts to these developments. We are hiring many new colleagues, have our own Wajer Academy, and have this year implemented a modern performance cycle focused on development rather than performance. Due to Wajer’s rapid growth, there is much to be done! We hope to welcome you as our new colleague soon!

Job requirements

What do you bring?

Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic and has a high energy level. With your sense of relationships and sensitivity, you are a strong sparring partner. You have a proactive and flexible attitude and know how to balance thinking and doing. Additionally, you are a true team player and actively contribute to the growth and professionalization of our HR department.

In addition, you possess:

  • A completed higher professional education (HBO), preferably in HRM.
  • Ideally at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Experience in pragmatic and rapidly growing SMEs or in a production environment with short communication lines is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including in Dutch and English.
  • Knowledge of and experience with MS Office; experience with AFAS is a plus.
  • Full-time availability, with the option for partial remote work.
  • Passion for and affinity with (luxury) yacht building and watersports.

What can you expect?

An ambitious, fast-growing, and increasingly international organization, all with the personal and warm touch of a family business. Wajer’s success is palpable to everyone, and we are a true A-player in our industry. This results in a highly positive atmosphere within the organization and opportunities to invest in the future and your career. You will have the chance to continuously develop yourself and have the freedom to improve processes. Of course, you will also receive excellent employment benefits!
