Job description

Welcome to Wajer Yachts – where luxury meets craftsmanship
At Wajer Yachts, we don’t just build boats; we create luxury experiences that turn heads around the world. From Heeg to Miami, every Wajer is a statement of innovation, quality, and ultimate comfort. And it all starts with a team of passionate professionals like you.

From our international service hubs (including the South of France, Spain, and the US), we offer our customers an unmatched level of service through our Wajer Care program. Being a Wajer owner means enjoying maximum pleasure on the water – without a worry. Three simple words that define how we operate. Our technical teams ensure that every Wajer is always in top technical condition throughout the busy boating season. Meanwhile, our captains and deckhands handle everything from cleaning, fueling, and restocking fridges to planning beautiful day trips for our clients.

What your days will look like
Together with a group of (mostly Dutch) colleagues, you’ll work at one of our service hubs in the South of France or Spain – all with one goal: to offer our clients a carefree and unforgettable experience.
As part of our Summer Crew, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and operating the yachts, both for owners and charter guests. You may even become the dedicated captain for one of our clients during the season.

Beyond the yachts themselves, you’ll also take care of keeping our apartments and vehicles in top shape and always work respectfully toward others and the environment.

Each day starts with a morning briefing, where your manager assigns the day’s tasks. If you’re heading out on the water, you’ll find out which yacht you’re on, who’s joining you, and when you’ll depart. You’ll check everything on board – from fuel to fresh towels – and make sure the fridge is stocked with your guest’s favorite drinks. During the day, you’ll take guests safely from A to B, show them the most stunning bays, and make sure they enjoy an unforgettable time on the water.

More than just boating. Working in the Summer Crew is about much more than just being at the helm. Serving drinks, doing technical checks, tidying up, cleaning the yacht from bow to stern, and lifting watertoys in and out of the water it’s all part of the job. At the end of the day, you’ll bring the Wajer back to its home port, clean it thoroughly, and report any technical issues to our Service Engineers via the Wajer app.

Keep in mind that you won’t be sailing every single day this depends on your experience, the number of planned trips, and weather conditions. On non-sailing days, you’ll help with other tasks such as organizing the warehouse, office, and common areas, running errands, or updating administration.

In addition to your daily work, you may also assist with client events and boat shows, such as Cannes and Monaco.

This position focuses on staffing our service hubs in Spain and the South of France.
Prefer to work in the Netherlands (hub Amsterdam)? Please mention this clearly in your application.

Job requirements

What we are looking for
Besides a genuine passion for boats and watersports, we are looking for candidates with a strong sense of responsibility and technical insight. You understand what it means to operate a luxury yacht with guests on board and are responsible for safety at all times. You pay attention to quality and efficiency in your work and never leave anything to chance.

In addition, you have:

  • Preferably a completed mbo or hbo-level education;

  • Strong technical insight, preferably with hands-on experience in technical work, hobbies, or previous employment;

  • Small Boat License I and II plus experience operating fast motorboats. If you do not have these licenses by the application deadline, we cannot consider your application, even if your exams are scheduled;

  • A minimum availability of 8 consecutive weeks. Preference will be given to candidates available for the entire season (April to October);

  • A good command of English and Dutch. Speaking Spanish, French, or German is an advantage;

  • A valid driver’s license B.

Due to the lengthy work and residence permit procedures in France and Spain, we are specifically seeking candidates from the EU for the 2026 season.

What to expect
You will live together with the team in Wajer-provided housing (shared rooms), meaning you will rely on each other 24/7 for several weeks. We are looking for real team players. Besides an incredibly educational adventure, you will work alongside fun colleagues and build lasting friendships. You will be part of a young but professional team where you can learn a lot.

Other benefits include:

  • A fixed gross monthly salary between €2,348 and €2,608;

  • Wajer-provided housing in the South of France or Spain;

  • A freshly prepared evening meal Monday through Friday;

  • Daily work with our beautiful yachts.

Working for Wajer as part of the Summer Crew can also be a great stepping stone toward a further career at Wajer. At the end of the season, our top talents will have the opportunity to apply for the Wajer Care Talent Pool, a program in which you receive full-time employment, personal guidance, and intensive training to prepare for a professional career at Wajer.

The application process
Part of your application is a video pitch in which you creatively introduce yourself. We will also ask a few questions about your boating experience and availability. To ensure the start in the hubs goes smoothly, we work with several fixed intake moments. During your application, you will indicate which intake moment suits you and until when you are available.

The first screening is based on your CV, video pitch, boating experience (including licenses), and availability. If the first screening is positive, you will be invited for an interview in Amsterdam or Heeg. Interviews will take place between 24 November and 12 December 2025.

After a successful application process, you will start our mandatory Wajer Summer Crew Academy. Here, you will receive further training including Powerboat Level 2 (with Commercial Endorsement), learn everything about our yachts, technical systems, company norms, and other practical skills. Participation in all sessions is mandatory. If you are unavailable for one or more dates, we unfortunately cannot continue your application.

Summer Crew Academy practical days:

  • Hospitality & Communication – 7 or 8 February 2026;

  • Technical Training 1 – 14 or 15 February 2026;

  • RYA Powerboat & Boating Assessment – one day between 16 and 27 February 2026;

  • Sea Survival, First Aid & VHF Radio – 7 & 8 March or 13 & 14 March 2026;

  • Technical Training 2 & Safety – 21 or 22 March 2026.

Applications are open until Sunday, 16 November 2025. After that, all applications will be reviewed and we will contact you during the week of 17–21 November 2025.
