Ship Carpenter

New Build

Job description

About Wajer

Wajer Yachts is a Dutch family business with an international presence. Although we are located in various parts of the world, our locations in Heeg and Lemmer (Friesland) are the heart of our company. Here, a team of approximately 200 colleagues works on the development, design, construction, and testing of around 40-50 yachts per year. Our sales and marketing team operates from a beautiful office in Amsterdam. During the summer, our team expands with about 80 employees at our international service hubs.

From these international service hubs (including South France, Ibiza, Mallorca, and Miami), we offer our clients unparalleled service through our Care program. Owning a Wajer means maximum boating pleasure, “without a worry.” These three simple words form the foundation of our business operations. We handle everything from cleaning, refueling, stocking refrigerators, and covering the boats to planning sailing trips.

What will you be doing?

In Heeg, we build various types of yachts, including the Wajer 55 and 55s. The yachts are constructed in different phases starting from the hull. We assemble as many components as possible outside the boat to ensure significant preliminary work is completed. As a Ship Carpenter, you will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Performing sealing work and fitting polyester components. Using sealant, you will seal fluid or air-tight components and refine aesthetic seams, gaps, and imperfections on the yacht.
  • Installing and fitting interior and exterior components, including furniture, kitchens, glass, and fittings.
  • Mounting light or simple electrical components on and in the yacht, such as kitchen appliances and lighting.
  • Applying wooden interiors and composite parts.
  • Carrying out various assembly and disassembly tasks, such as installing cabinets, kitchen furniture, walls, sanitary fixtures, hatches, and hanging doors. Additionally, you will mount fittings on interior parts and on deck.

As a Ship Carpenter, you will be part of the New Build team. With your craftsmanship, you will contribute significantly to achieving the best possible result together!
