Job description
About Us
Wajer Yachts is a proud Dutch family business in luxury yacht building. Our yachts, ranging from 38 to 77 feet, are among the top in the industry. Although we are located in various parts of the world, our locations in Heeg, Heerenveen, and Lemmer (Friesland) form the beating heart of the organization. Here, a team of approximately 350 colleagues works on the development, design, construction, and testing of about 60-70 yachts per year. From our international service hubs (including South of France, Ibiza, Mallorca, and Miami), we offer our clients unparalleled service through our unique Care program. Owning a Wajer means maximum boating pleasure: “Without a worry.” Three simple words that form the foundation of our operations.
Is Your Future as a Technical Service Manager on Ibiza?
In the challenging role of Technical Service Manager, you will live and work on Ibiza, but you will also be responsible for technical services at our other locations in Spain. You will stay in a Wajer apartment with colleagues from your team or choose your own accommodation. During the boating season, you will closely collaborate with and manage a team of five Foremen, one of whom coordinates the Parts department. The other four Foremen are responsible for the day-to-day management of our rapidly growing team of nine Service Engineers. In the winter months, your time will be divided between our winter storage facilities in Ibiza and Alicante, offering a highly varied job where you will regularly work at various Wajer locations.
Responsible for Top Service and a Flawless Fleet
At Wajer Yachts, we believe in providing an unparalleled customer experience. Our motto, "Without a worry," drives us to deliver the best every day. As Technical Service Manager, you are responsible for leading a streamlined technical operation and ensuring that our fleet of yachts is in perfect condition. You will work closely with a team of professionals, allowing you to focus on your managerial tasks. In addition, we expect you to:
- Plan and organize the capacity, skills, and continuity for each hub.
- Ensure, together with your colleagues worldwide, a “Without a worry 9+ service” for our clients.
- Manage external local partners where necessary.
- Take charge of technical operations, including warehousing.
- Be accountable for troubleshooting during the boating season.
- Take final responsibility for both preventive and corrective maintenance while 70 to 80 Wajer yachts are stored in the Spanish facilities.
You will work closely with the Area Manager Spain to ensure a worry-free season for our clients. Naturally, in your role, you will be supported and advised by our Manager Technical Care, to whom you will report directly.

Do You Qualify?
To be considered for this role, we require more than just a dream to move to Ibiza. You will become our technical conscience within the organization and the operational face of our fleet and its owners. We expect the same critical eye for quality from you that we demand of ourselves. Therefore, it is important that you bring the following qualifications:
- Education: You have a relevant bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: You have at least five years of experience in the industry, with experience leading a team and/or managing relevant projects.
- Languages: You are multilingual, with excellent command of English; Spanish is a plus.
- Technical knowledge: You have knowledge of materials, products, and systems in yacht building.
- Personal attributes: You recognize yourself in the following traits: strong communicator, analytical, quick decision-maker, and detail-oriented. You maintain an overview, bring structure, and are not afraid to make decisions, even when facing complex issues. Additionally, you are energetic, have a positive mindset, and know how to engage with conversation partners at every level.
What You Can Expect from Us
Moving to Ibiza is no small matter. Wajer understands this, and that’s why we believe it’s important to offer you a role that combines hard work in a beautiful location with ample free time and the opportunity to visit family, friends, and acquaintances in the Netherlands or elsewhere. We offer a 218-day arrangement, giving you the flexibility to organize your remaining days as you see fit. In addition to this arrangement, we also offer:
- Company-paid shared housing in a house or apartment. You also have the option to arrange your own accommodation with a monthly allowance from Wajer.
- Catering: If you use shared housing, we will ensure dinner is prepared for you every evening.
- Travel expenses: Your flights to Ibiza (and back) and any other work-related travel expenses on location will be covered by us.
- Money: You will receive a salary that reflects our appreciation and is appropriate to the level and seniority of this position.
